Smart Manufacturing Week 2026: UK manufacturers ask the right questions

Smart Factory Expo, Drives + Controls and the conference programme under one roof — and three questions that map straight onto the platform.

Events & engagements

NOVYRON attended Smart Manufacturing Week 2026 at the NEC in Birmingham, where Smart Factory Expo, Drives + Controls and the conference programme ran under one roof.

The questions UK manufacturers brought to the floor were the right ones: how do we connect pilots that never scaled, how do we trust an AI decision on the line, and who is accountable when the automation spans five suppliers.

Each of those maps onto what we build — production-cell digital twins, AI-driven visual inspection and multi-system orchestration — and onto the part the platform deliberately does not take over. Interlocks, regulatory control and the approved operating envelope stay with the plant and its equipment vendors, which is usually the first thing a production engineer wants settled.
